I just bought a 2003 R6 (cost?...were not that cool yet?) with 5500 mi. and I am in love. I ahve joined this website to get some geneal info I can't seem to from any other website and each rider I talk to has a diff. story.

Oil Change/When? Can I do it myself? $? What products to use, where to buy them?

Bets place to buy parts? Gas cap cover? Neon light set up etc.?

I think my bike is the S*&t , and I am sure you all think the same of yours.

Hey welcome to the forum!

Congats on the bike, Oil changes you should do well 1 now so you know its done, and one about every 1000 - 2000 miles depending how you are riding the bike. If you ride it less than that for whatever reason in a season change it right before the next season before you start riding it again.

You can do the change yourself its similar to a car, just a bolt on the bottom of the pan, and a small filter. Might need one of those generic filter clamps to get it off. As far as oil goes just stick with yamalube since its made for the bike, there is always like mobil 1 and royal purple but stick whats made for the bike. You should get these parts right from a dealership. You might be able to find them online a little cheaper but in the long run after shipping and etc might be easier to just get from a dealership.

Best place to buy parts is eBay for most of your body replacement stuff. There is another site that i have, i cant find it off the top of my head and its on my desktop at home, send me a PM and i will get it to you, its almost as cheap as ebay. As for the rest of the parts there are a bunch of sites, if Fiero reads this im sure he knows of a few places, if not just PM him.
