spooled stands are always the best, it keeps the bike from walking side to side, keeps from scratching the swingarm and the spools act as swingarm sliders incase you ever lay the bike down you won't mess up the swingarm.

Check out www.handyindustries.com They have a great deal on a pair of stands (front & rear) for only $99. Not bad, considering you can pay that much for just one alone. Bought a pair myself. No complaints.

I purchased the spooled stands. I believe the site refers to them as "bobbins", which is what it's referred to alot in the UK. Here is the direct site for the package deal:

http://www.handyindustries.com/standpackages.asp

It's the first one listed (13012). Select rubber pads or bobbin support. You still have to purchase your spools separately. You can find them at any sport bike shop. Disregard the 14548 package. It's only intended for R1-R6 older than 2002.

One other tip. If you select the spooled (which is what I would recommend), make sure you setup the spool supports to the stand in the proper direction. You want the longer side pointing towards the front of the bike. You'll see what I mean, if you decide to go with them. Always remember to use the rear stand first!

If you plan on moving the bike while its on the stand invest in a set of PITBULL stands. They're about 150 bucks each front and rear, but it well worth it. They have huge solid wheels so if you need to move the bike in your garage or in a gravel paddock they work like a champ.

Pit bulls are great....as far as stands go, you get what you pay for. But don't look over the cheap ones if you only want to do simple maintenance.
