what do you guys think of the GSXR1300 Hayabusa, i think its one mean lookin machine that would be a pretty cool scare-the-sh!t-out-of-me project bike. i know the power is more than you could ever use but man it would one cool piece of technology to have. what do u guys think of it? cool, scary, stupid, too much, owners compensating for small penises, whats the deal

I ride with a buddy who has one...great power...just don't like the look. When we go on longer rides (highway)...he seems MUCH more comfortable than I do after a few hours. The busa reminds me of the Stang GT. A few years ago, you would only see one or two...now I see the busa everywhere!
Now, that being said....would I turn down a busa as a gift...HELL NO!

I'd kindly accept it and trade it for the new Gixxer thou!!
Busa's are pretty rediculous and f#cking huge as well. I would love a go on one but not sure whether I would enjoy the cornering too much, far to used to sharp handling bikes which need to be revved.
I'll leave them for the mid-life chrisis crew for now!

There's I guy in town here that has like a '96/'97 busa (pre regulated detuning) with a turbo. He runs gearing +1 in the front and -2 in the rear. He can either rip a burnout or stand up a wheelie in 3rd at +120 depending on where he sits in the saddle.

that's sic

If the Busa was mean, just wait for the Bking (or whatever it is called) with it's engine in a naked chassis. Should look pretty tight.

that would probably look pretty nice, im not a huge fan of naked bikes myself but i know alot of guys that are, a guy i work with is in love with the FZ-1. and i have to admit it does look nice.

The only thing that bugs me about most naked 'muscle' bikes is that 9 times out of 10 the engines have been detuned to provide more midrange at the expense of top end. They should be left how they are - much more interesting.

yeah i agree, they should leave them the way they are or give you a choice. on the busa there was a year that they started de-tuning, if you buy a pre model then its the full deal, im not sure of the year though

They didn't mess with the power output but slapped a 186mph limit on it which most of the firms agreed to in the face of possible European speed/power restrictions, if left to the governments it would have been a lot lower so that's why they stepped up. Pretty sure it was around '99/2000, a year or two after it came out. The ZX12R was always restricted unfortunately.
I know Triumph didn't agree to it back in the day and it's rumoured they are working on a 'hyper' bike to beat the older Busa's in top speed. Should be interesting to see what the boys at Hinkley can come up with.

yeah your right, it was a speed limiter. not HP. i wonder if its easily removeable.

Check this video out if you havent seen it, the Buse vs a Lingenfelter Corvette, possibly the worlds fastest street legal corvettes.

Once I decide to spend the money and time that it takes to build a website I will put stuff like this up all the time for your viewing pleasure. Not to outdo the R6 site, just we cant upload to here or use HTML and that understandable cause it costs a lot of money and time and space to allow everyone to do that

I have an 07 busa and love the bike. I'm 6'1" and 265lbs and am a little better suited to a larger bike. My best friend that rides with me has an 07 r6. I am much more comfortable on road trips than him but we've pulled all day runs and he doesn't seem to mind. We ride curves mainly and he is able to care significantly more speed than me through the corners (I catch him on exits and when the road straightens up). They're both great bikes, just suited to different tasks.

I call bullshit! The busa didn't come out until 1999.
