Hey everyone.. My new R6 has a rattle in the front when I go over bumps. It sounds like something is loose up front but I can't figure it out.. Anyone else with this problem or give me some ideas. Also. I know the trans can be clunky sometimes, and from reading here it sounds kinda normal but, should it be hard to shift sometimes? There are times I really have to lift up on the lever to shift it. It's always warmed up nice and usually from 4-5 or from 5-6th gear when it does it.. I have 600 miles on it now FYI.. Thanks, Wes.

Also check the upper and the headlight. when you are riding someplace bumpy rest your hand on the headlight and surronding parts and see if the rattle goes away. Also check your speedo.

And the stiff shifting is pretty normal for how few miles you have.

I noticed the same thing on my 05 and was told by my mechanic that its the floating brakes. Apparently, there is no way to totally eliminate that...

Listen for the rattle when you brake - if it is the discs this should stop. Failing that just have a play with them when with the bike parked up - it will be fairly obvious.

When I go over bumps and hold in the front brake, even barely touching it, the noise is either reduced or goes away completely, it's hard to tell with a helmet on. Must have been it.. thanks. WEs.

The spring loosened up that holds the front pads in place.. the mech. said that I heard the pads rattling.. The only thing is,,, that he tightened them up enough to be tight but I can still hear it.. he said if he tightened it more the pads would rub.. So the rattle i guess is normal.. He said its just the way its designed..
