Does anyone have any idea how fast this car will go if it's 2860 pounds and has 170 horsepower? I don't know how much an average sportscar weighs or how much horsepower an average sportscar has. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It shouldnt be too bad. I think the car is designed around the young kids who want a sweet car, and cheap adults looking for a weekend car in the summer. The car is small and light but 170hp is definatly way under powered. Dont get my wrong it will be pretty quick for weight to hp for a car, but its not gonna take anyhting more than a honda. However though the car is prime for a turbo or super charger and that will give you a solid 50-80 hp increase but to do that you need a new ECU that can handle boost controll, exhaust, up and down pipes and etc. A lot of work to make something like that faster. For what its worth go find a subaru impreza WRX or a dodge neon turbo if you want cheap and fast. If your gonna be looking for a nice smooth quick but comfortable covertable then the solstice might be the way to go....its comparable for a BMW Z3 but obviously less quality

yea and the solstice gxp i belive makes somewhere in the 220hp range.....and yea that ls7 solstice sounds amazing.

ok this is coming from an ex GM technican who got to drive brand new ones straight off the truck: the stock non turbo soltice is not fast at all especially with an auto trans the man. is a little better to drive. i cant say anything about the GXP (turbo model) never got to drive one, but in the gxp commercials they claim it will out run a porsche boxter but ive also heard the boxter is not a fast car either.

ya 170 HP is pretty weak if your lookin to go really fast ... but if you want to dump money into the engine you could make it a fast car

I got a better Idea. Get a miata and turbo it! better handling plus its not a pontiac.. O yeah and a better weight/power ratio(after a turbo). probably cheaper to insure at the same time.

I personally love my Solstice, I wouldn't trade it in for any other car in the world. The Miata eh, screw them they think they are bad and if a solstice was to upgrade to the LS2 or LS7 or even a stage 2 turbo kit with a reflash it would beat the miata hands down.

And more people look at the Solstice than they do the Miata :)
