How about some wheelie 101 from you stunt masters, I am into trying things and would like your feedback/instructions on how to wheelie it is not like anyone ever gave me a class so I am curios and how different people do it Etc. I know there is a school in CA for it but how about in New England? Thanks
I'm in the process of learning also. I have the first gear wheelie going pretty good, I can't keep it in the air very long but it gets up. Here's what I do: Get going in first up to about 20-25 mph and give it a good twist. Not too much but just enough to get the front wheel up. Once I get used to that I twist some more until it gets too wild for me.
Like I said, I'm still learning also. I'm sure I could get the front wheel up a lot more, and I'm sure its not up as far as I think it is.
As for second gear wheelies, I tried that once and about **** my pants. I was in a rebelious mood (just hit a new speed record for me) and was just about home to put it away when I thought to give it a shot. I was doing about 45-50ish in second, pulled the clutch in and reved it up pretty good, dumped the clutch, I can't tell you how fast that front end came up on me. So I'm going to stick with the first gear wheelies for now until I get them down.
Good luck with your learning. Take your time with it, you will get it eventually. You don't want your broken bike sitting in your garage and your broken self sitting in your house during the summer time.
