so i bought a used R6 yesterday...and i notice its an R6S....what does the S stand for?

Not a dumb question....the "S" models are basically the same R6 as you would have purchased from '03 - '04.

The "S" model R6 allows Yamaha to continue to produce these bikes and sell them at a lower price point than the "R" model. The "S" will have a little older technology but still a great bike for the price.

You can Google the differences between the two....but I think the bottom line is that the "S" is a more comfortable all-around version of the R6 while the "R" version is built a little more for the track.

I've owned both (2003 R6 and a 2007 R6r).
