Well, finally I got my R6 yesterday! I can't tell you the feeling of seeing the bike in my garage next to my wife's 04 R6 as well...total is two 04 R6s!
I rode it yesterday for the first time and man...I cannot describe how much I enjoy the bike. Handling is unreal, comfort is incredible, and the looks can only be described as moving works of art!
Just wanted to say what's up to everyone and that R6 is hands down the nicest 600cc money can buy in my humble opinion but then again...I've alway been a fan of the R6.
So...hello all fellow R6 riders!

congrats... you def. made the right choice!!! be very, very careful. if these are your first bikes odds are you will dump it at some point, whether in a parking lot going 2mph or stopping and loosing balance. eitherway, protect it with some frame sliders and be careful. btw what colors did you get?
next to my wife's 04 R6
Now, thats what I call romance :)
Welcome, congrats on the bikes, take all the advice that comes your way and enjoy !!

I hear all of you and we are taking baby steps! We rode them Saturday and Sunday and already the bike feels like it's a part of us when we are on it...oh man are they great bikes! Both bikes are blue! And sad to say but we saw a guy who just bought a bike stall and jump off the bike, so far, my wife and I have only stalled a few times and riding around has been just fine. I used to race road bikes and mountain bikes semi-pro so getting on a motorcycle feels natural...but I have no intentions of letting my guard down or driving like a nut! :-)
I have two questions! First, when you are going say 40mph and are slowing down to stop, do you downshift or coast and shift down into 1st?
Second, when you are braking and need to slow down yet keep moving, is it better to stay in gear and slow down then downshift? Or do you downshift as you slow down? I've done both, just not sure which is better...I don't want to kill my clutch and tranny.
ok...three! what is a good cruising rpm? 3000, 4000? I am still not sure where this bike likes to cruise. Hopefully these are not too stupid of questions.
If anyone is in the N. VA area...please post some meets! Looking forward to meeting other R6 owners!
