Hello. I am brand new to the Yamaha sportbikes and I cannot believe that I waited so long to throw my leg over one. I traded my 2003 GSXR 1000 on a 2007 R6S. I was BLOWN AWAY. After having owned gixxers since 2003, I became completely biased. The only R6 I have ridden prior to owning this one was a 2001. At the time, I was not impressed. I swore that the only bike I owned would only becalled a "gixxer".
I came across my current ride at a dealership here in Colorado. I have always thought that the 2003-2009 R6/R6S looked very sexy. My old bike had 18k on the clock and was well carred for. I purchased the litre bike to do two-up riding with my wife. Since she has began her own riding, I did not really find a need for the power of the litre bike and most of my fun twistie riding came on the seat of a 600. My R6S had 2600 miles on it and was for sale at 3400 dollars. I decided it was time to part ways with the big gix and get the R6S.
After my first trip in the many twisties in the moutains, I was flattened by the handling. I have countless hours of track days and live for winding roads. Never have I been able to go 'round turns so fast, and wring the neck out of a bike while do so. SO much fun.
So here I am. Sorry for the long introduction, I look forward to getting to know you all. Take car.
