Hey guys just ran in to this forum thought id sign up. I just got a 2003 limited edition R6 (black with red flames) last saturday and have only put like 30 kms on it i have never rode before but i have dirtbiked for 8 years. Any pointers you can give me to stay alive would be stellar!

Hey welcome to the forum! All i can recomend is wear all your gear, i can show you the skin graft i needed and i was wearing mine, pics are loaded online if you want them let me know

Take it easy and build your confidence slowly.
Check the suspenders are set up correclty - many people fettle them and only make the bikes worse.
Wear full gear of course.
Do a track day to learn the limits in a safer environment.
give the tyres time to warm up before you rinse it!!
And lastely have fun but be careful or you will soon end up out of your depth - I'd rather warn you from my experience than have you learn the hard way - trust me, both the backs of cars and the road are HARD!!
