i love my brand new R6 to death. only put 20 miles on it. got home and broke the news to my parents and basically they werent havin it. they pretty much disowned me from the family.

i was looking for an actual sales reciept of my bike but i dont think i even got one to check and see if there was a return policy.

any info or advice would be appreciated.
thanks

I hate to break it to ya but I think you are stuck with the bike.
If your family can't accept you thats too bad.
Enjoy the bike!!!!! 8)

Yeah man, no return policies for bikes or cars man. If they do take it back it will be taken back as used and they will buy it back from you for a ton less then you just paid for it.

Dude, ask your Dad if he would have rather you come home with a bike or "come out of the closet"!!!!! I say he picks the bike. Good luck with that bro......if all else fails check out www.apartments.com and live your own life.....not your parents.

Hey man, I'm just wondering...
You sound like you're a relatively young person, since you still live with your parents, and I thought to myself that I would do the same thing as you (go out and buy an R6), but I can't because I don't have the money. I'm just wondering how a young person like you, still living with your parents, comes up with the money for an R6. Man let me tell you, I am very jealous. I forgot to ask... how old are you? If you don't mind me asking, that is.

its easy if you are living at home, there is nothing to pay for, payments are less than a car and the insurance is nothing on it. So if you own a used truck or car and its payed of, instead of making payments for a new car get the bike and pay it off in 2 yrs. if you dont have the money go for 3 yrs. the trick is where to get a loan from. If you go to a bank and say you need it for a motorcycle, they will slam you for 6-10% easy. Now if you go to the bank and say you need to help furnash a house, its like 1 or 2% and they dont check.

Now to run the numbers. say a new r6 is 8000.00 at 4% APR. your payments are as follows

2 Yrs = 347.40 a month or about 80.00 dollars a week
Total spent with interest = 8337.60

3 Yrs = 236.19 a month or about 55.00 dollars a week
Total spent with interest = 8502.84

4 Yrs = 180.63 a month or about 42.00 dollars a week
Total spent with interest = 8670.24

So once you really decide on how much you want to spend on a new bike, and get the rate to where it should be, you can decide how much you can really afford.

Nt, I don't know where you get off saying that insurance would be nothing... AT say 17 years old, you'll pay more in insurance than you will the bike. Well here anyways. And as a young person with almost no credit history, they don't usually pass loans out like candy. I don't know.. Perhaps things are different in your area.

NT, thanks, that helps a lot! As for insurance... I'm 17 years old, and when I went to get an insurance quote for a 600cc sportbike, insurance came out to $200 or $300 a year for the most basic type. I live in Michigan, and I know a guy who works at a small insurance company and absolutely loves sportbikes, and their company insures them pretty cheap.

Those of us born in a garage with gasoline for blood sometimes forget the disrimination of ignorant people. Who ever thought people would be racist against bikes? A machine that is used in countries all over the world to prevent pollution and cut down on traffic. <--MY grandfather when i told him about your post. the wrinkly guy rides a jetted full fairing Triumph HE STILL DOES WHEELIES.

Attempt bargaining explain the ridiculous monetary loss you will have. Tell them you will take a certified state safe riders course (its only like 100 bucks and most places let you crash their bikes). tell them you will only ride it in the day time. Tell them you actually get girls now because your lid covers your pimples. Tell them Its better than a drug addiction. TELL THEM ANYTHING TO KEEP RIDING THE BIKE. if not you will get a strange pain in your stomach everytime you see hear or smell one. IF all else fails hide it at a friends house you cant be recognized with a helmet on. IF you ride smart and dont show off (dont crash the bike) and play it safe for a while eventually they'll get over it.
