I often ride a '93 Katana 600 that belongs to my friend, and I feel very much like I'm sitting IN it. It's a very comfortable bike. I went to the dealership and sat on an R6, and I realized that it was a very different feeling. I felt like I was sitting more ON it than IN it. Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

At a stand still you feel like you're ON an R6 because you are perched up higher than on the katana. However once you start to ride an r6 you quickley get the feeling of being IN the bike and capable of being in complete control. Unlike say the honda 929RR where you never got the feeling of being one fluid vehicle.

Also important to note that a Katana is more of a sport touring bike and not a pure sportbike. The R6 is track ready right off the showroom floor, where a Katana is more of "a poorman's" sportbike. I don't mean that in a bad way, they are just less expensive then superbikes, are set up with less expensive components...etc.

With that all said, the R6 is a pure sportbike/superbike, and is set up so ergonomically. Two different kinds of bikes.
