Dear all,

I have just boughten a 04 R6 and the seat height is a big trouble for me.
The 82mm is very high for me. I was asking the Yamaha service, but they couldn't help me.
They have only one idea, there is a triangle, which holds the swingarm.
They rotate it and the seat height came down, but the entire frame characteristic has changed and it is almost impossible to drive the bike.

So if somebody has an idea to make the R6 "smaller " without changing the characteristic ,please let me know.

If I can't solve this problem, I have to sell my bike, but I really do not want!!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Okay one way to lower your seat position would be to remove the seat cover and trim some of the foam and then put the seat cover back on. That will lower where your bottom is but it will also do away with the padding so you might have a pain in the ass.

Next option is to get aftermarket "Dogbones". These are the metal brackets in the middle of your shock linkage and getting shorter ones will lower the bike but you will lose a small amount of the r6's aggressive nature.

Next option is to buy an aftermarket shock assembly, like a fox shock, that has ride height adjustment.
