just wondering if a 2002 rim will fit a 2003? this is probley a squid question but im trying to find out some information on my bros bike. he is curently in Iraq

Yes an '02 rim will fit an '03 bike.

The only difference is in the weight and possibly rotors. The '02 rims are heavier than '03 because that was before Yamaha started using the CF (continuous flow) Casting technique. Also I think the front rotors were 5mm different so be on the look-out for possible wear on the inside of the caliper.

The weight things is a definate difference but the rotor size is a mental question mark. I just can't remember what year they switched rotor sizes.
