Im installing the back off brake light flasher on my 04 r6. There are three wires going to the aftermarket taillight that is installed. I have:
-Black (Ground, obviously)
-Yellow
-Blue
SO, my question is this... which is the "always on when ignition is on" wire and which is the "only on when brakes are applied" wire?
anyone know? I could test them but if someone could tell me then I would not have to cut both wires to test.

I believe yellow is power and blue is the ignition power running light

You can make a simple, crappy, and cheap test light for next to nothing.
What you need:
2 Pieces of wire
1 Single filament auto lightbulb (Like an 1156)
Some elctrical tape.
How-to
Strip the ends of the pieces of wire back about an inch. Now tape one end of the one wire to to pole on the bottom of the bulb. Tape one end of the second wire to the side of bulb (this is the second pole for the bulb).
Fin.
The two free ends can be used to test if there is current.
Touch one wire to the Black wire, and touch the other to either the yellow or the blue with just the key on and see which combination makes the bulb light up.
You can also wrap the exposed free ends of the wires around small nails and tape them and now you have test leads to peirce wire if you ever need to.

NT is right, I ended up just cutting wires to figure it out. Blue is ignition power, yellow is the brakes, I thought it would have been the opposite actually as yellow is usually a power wire in cars.
Fiero, thanks for tip on that cheapo tester , I may have to put one of those together...
Anyways I got the modulator installed last night and it works great, now if it would just stop freakin' raining... ;)
