I just put a deposit on an '03, i'm transferring the title and bringing it home on thursday. Since it's my first bike, i need to buy a helmet and Jacket. I think i'm just gonna save some money and get a decent HJC helmet and a Joe Rocket Atomic 2.0 jacket. The local dealer doesn't have any alpinestar or Icon jackets or anything, so i can't even try them on and order them online or anything. If anyone has any feedback on that jacket, i would appreciate it. thanks.

What dealer are you buying your bike from? And if you need a helmet to get you buy until you can afford a good one, I can loan you the one I bought when I brought my bike home.
I had to do the same thing. I needed a helmet right there so I could go home. Shortly thereafter I bought my Shoei, and then I sold my rear seat and passenger pegs. So I have no need for the second helmet.

I am buying the bike from a private seller in New Kensington. I'll be buying the gear from a place in Gibsonia called Crossroads motorsports, owned in part by my neighbor, so i should be OK.... my one friend has had an HJC for a while now and says that there's been no problem with it fogging up, or being heavy or anything, so i'm just gonna go with that for now.

Honestly though, i appreciate the offer, and while i wont be racing anytime soon, i'm sure i'll see you at Beaver Run towards the end of the summer. I landscape when i'm not in school, so from as soon as finals are over, til about mid June, it's pretty hectic. I'll be in touch for some good days to head out there.
