I just left havin lunch, went down the road about 1/2 mile, not even gettin nutty, like under 5k on the tach, roll up to the light, downshift and all of a sudden my bike is missin and stumbling like crazy. So i think I fouled a plug or somethin. Limp home and check and the #2 cyl isn't firing.
Was due for some service anyway, so I rode 4 more miles to the shop, get there and now i'm only runnin on 2 cylinders. The #4 took a poo too. The mechanic checks it out and called me and said all 4 of my ignition coils are bad!! But he said no worries, it's a recall item, NO CHARGE!! I have about 10,000 miles and it runs flawless. Never once hesitated til now.
I found the TSB for the '03 enter the site below and enter
10006216 in the NHTSA Item Number.

Anyone else with a '03 have this prob?
I've got an 03 and am currently having the same problem. Mine will start up just fine run for a few min and then die. It'll start right back up and then do the same thing. It's weird though because it only does that sometimes. I mean some days I can ride for hours and it won't die at all and then on other days I can hardly keep the thing running. I didn't know about the recall though. I guess i'll have to go to headquarters and have my people fix it.

that sucks man. nah my bike ran flawless til the coils started failing. i have about 9600 miles on mine and everything i read about the problematic coils is that they fail between 8-12k miles. i just got my bike back the other day with the new coils and it runs as sweet as ever.
if u haven't had your coils replaced yet call the dealer and tell them your bike is missin when u accelerate and ask if they have the coils in stock and they should hook you up. if they don't have them in stock have them ordered so you don't get to much down time off the bike. yeah get your sh*t fixed before it stalls at the wrong time.
That's exactly what I was thinking. The last thing I need is for my bike to die mid corner while I have my wife on the back. I just turned 10K the other day and the problem started about a thousand miles ago. Now I'm sure you've pin pointed it for me. I'll definately have the dealer check it out. Thanks a bunch.
I'm having the same problem with my 03 R6! My question is can all four coils be bad and the bike still run? I checked them and they still send a spark so i wrote them off as ok. My R6 has 11125 miles and was running like a champ till one day out of the blue she started hicupping like a newborn.

yeah all 4 coils can be bad and it'll run like turd. all 4 of mine failed, one after the other, in about a 5 mile stretch. get your coils replaced, and don't pay anything for them to do it. if they try and charge you, go somewhere else.
