Hello, I'm a new member, I've got an '01 model that's bags of fun. I ve also got a growing bunch of kids, so didnt find time to ride over Winter. The bike is now due resurrection from storage, and a 12000 mile service. The garage asked me if I wanted a shim service?? If I knew, I'd probably service it myself. Anybody know how I can get the appropriate service done, and know that it's been done? Biking weather in Wembley is good right now, I'm itching for a thrash !!

If you no longer have your owners manual, here's the place to go for your bike

All you have to do is open the manual and click on the "Periodic Maintenance and Minor Repar" option on the left. I looked through it quick and it (as far as I could tell) didn't say much about a "shim service". The manual tells you what service you need and when for the most part. I dunno, anyway, the manual should tell you what your baby needs to run nice. Hope that helps.
