koreandude

Hey people. Just wanted to introduce myself. People call me Richard in the flesh but i go by Koreandude on the net. Not even sure how i came up with that since i'm not fully korean but hey, who cares.
I recently picked up a 2005 R6 brand new (rapid red) and love it so far. Broke it in and had it's first 500 mile service last weekend. I've been riding for a year and a half and this is my 2nd bike.
My first bike was a 2000 EX500R. Never rode a motorcycle in my life 'till that bike. Great bike to learn on and i'm telling ya, sport riding came naturally to me. I did things the right way, got my license, took the MSF BRC (insurance discount was more than enough reason aside from all the other skills learned) and read a couple books on sport riding like A Twist of the Wrist by Keith Code and Total Control by Lee Parks. I studied the material hardcore and after that i freakin' exploded on that EX500. After 6 months of riding i was out pacing my friends on the curves who had a lot more seat time than I. They couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe it. I guess life is not without a sense of irony when you see a EX500 leading a pack of Ninja ZX-6's, 929RR's and CBR600's through the twisties. But those guys mostly did stunting and well, i did more turning.
I ended up selling the 500 (bought it for 2400 and sold it for 3200!) after installing a jet kit, new rear tire and a Vance & Hines full exhaust. Lots of fun on that bike. I used the money toward a new house and well, I can't shake the riding from my veins and ever since i understood what it was i wanted out of a sport bike from back in the day, I had to get an R6. Mostly becuase i loved the styling and heard it was a weapon for handling (which is what i enjoy most on a bike).
So after a year of selling the bike and now i'm all moved in and settled in my house i started looking and saw an 05 R6, Red, begging me to ride her all night long at a local shop.
It seems like Yamaha finally did some catching up with the 2005 by upping juice a bit and smoothing the power band, switching to 41mm inverted forks, kick-@ss 310mm rotors, improved chassis and swing arm, lighter overall weight, taller front tire, more stable suspension, etc. (i'm sure you guys new that already) I had to get it.
So this is where i am today. This bike has puckered my butt checks a few times already but i enjoy every minute of it (in a non queer, heterosexualy possible way)
