: pipe?
04yzf 05-30-2004, 05:28 PM hey all. I have an 2004 r6 and I am wondering what pipe to get, ive been toying w/ either akrapoic or leo vinci slip ons but I want more power. Im thinking Hindle Full Ti system but, i want a little more input I currantly work at a Yamaha Dealership and as much as we push the GYTR line it's retardedly expensive i could of gotten an R1 for the cost of their full system so I just want a lil more info on the subject, eveyone I know rides a suzuki  so im stuck. any info would help thanks guys
yami_R6 05-31-2004, 07:50 AM I heard that Hindle with the full system gives the most power, but you
should also get a power commander if you do that.
04yzf 05-31-2004, 03:44 PM yeah I heard that too , as for the power commander hell yeah , there is a performance shop about 5 miles away that does dyno tuning so they will be able to dial everything in for me..
B8SMANR6 06-03-2004, 09:50 AM I just had my Hindle Ti High-Mount installed yesterday. All I can say is damn! This exhaust made way more power change than I thought. The bike will power wheelie in second now. Not bouncing it or clutching it, just rolling into the throttle. Never did that before.
04yzf 06-13-2004, 02:03 PM nice, the consensus ive been getting is that Akrapovic and Hindle make quite a bit more power than the others. By the way was that w/or w/out a powercommander or mapping??
B8SMANR6 06-15-2004, 10:28 AM no powercommander or anything else for that matter. Just the high mount.
SLIP ON OR FULL SYSTEM? :?:
B8SMANR6 06-17-2004, 09:14 AM slip on
Thats awesome man. I am definatly going w/an Akrapovic TI-slip on then. The power gains are so minimal there is no point in going w/ a full system. keep me posted bro thanks. You might wanna look in-to getting it mapped you may be able to pull another 1 or 2 horse out of it.
NetworkGod 07-07-2004, 11:58 AM I just ordered a Yoshi Tri-Oval Race slip on. The one with dual tips. ANyone tried this pipe yet? I haven't read any reports. I was wondering if anyone here has one or has seen on installed.
I just wanted some sound and a little mid-range boost. Next is going to be the PCIII. . .
I will post more info on the pipe after I get it installed. SHould be here in the next couple days. . .I hope before the weekend.
04yzf 07-08-2004, 03:46 PM YOSHI MAKES A GOOD PIPE BUT YHEY DO MOST TESTING ON SUZUKI'S I WORK AT A SUZUKI/YAMAHA SHOP AND IVE EXPERIENCED BOTH. I DUNNO HOW MUCH POWER YOU MIGHT GET OUT OF IT BUT YAMAHA'S TEND TO REACT BETTER TO MODIFICATIONS SO IT WILL PROBABLY BE PRETTY SWEET. I DON'T THINK YOU WILL NEED A POWER COMMANDER WITH JUST A SLIP ON EITHER , UNLESS IT IDLES FUNNY OR RUNS A LITTLE LEAN.
But won't the Power Commander enable me to get a little more out of the bike, reguardless of the pipe? I was under the impression that even on a bone stock bike, the PCIII would bring outMORE POWER.
04yzf 07-09-2004, 02:31 PM not unless you map it....the power commander just moniters if it is running too rich or lean. it also enables you to download new mappings for it right to the bike rather than taking it somwhere else to do so.
dyezak 07-12-2004, 06:09 AM ^^^The PC has no O2 feedback of any kind. It must be mapped with a wideband O2. If you can not do that the next best is to download a map from the internet that is set up for the same mods as your bike (they have most configurations available). And yes, even on a stock bike a PC can give a LITTLE more power...from the factory the 6 runs lean to meat emmissions.
