How similar are the parts from a 99' R6 to a 2002 R6? Could you mix and match parts fairly easily?I hear the 03' was a completely different bike,so that's why I didn't include it.

They are pretty much identical. Except for the L.E.D. taillight on the '02 which the '99 didn't have. There are some small things too. I think over the evolution of the gen 1's to gen 2 they tweaked the carb jetting and possibly cam lift if I remember right.

Then in '03 it was a whole differnet bike. That's why I bought the '02. I didn't want to be yamahas guinea pig for fuel injection. But '99 to '02 all the major stuff is the same. Wheels, body work, handlebars, controls. The only difference like I said was the L.E.D. tailights and the graphics on the body work.
