I was a religious user of the mich pilot sports. Just judging from their attack on racing and tire development I would find it hard to believe that their replacement tire is worse than the original.

I run Pilot Sports on my R6 and Pilot Sport HPX's on my RC51.

I HAVE NO PROBELMS WITH MY POWERS. I HATED MY DUNLOPS BECAUSE ON A LEAN IT FELT LIKE THE REAR WANTED TO DRIFT OUT ON ME. THE PILOTS ARE A SOFTER TIRE AND GRIP ALOT BETTER TO ME, BUT EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN PREFERENCE. I LIKE THAT WHEN YOU DONT HAVE CHICKEN STRIPS ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRE THE MICHELIN TIRE MAN WEARS OFF. THE ONLY FLAW I WOULD SEE IN PILOT POWERS ARE THAT THE WEAR TOO FAST......."JUST A REMINDER I RAN A 190 IN THE REAR ON MY DUNLOPS AND HATED IT".

I dont want to hi-jack your thread but.....I gotta ask. Which tire would be the better choice if I'm doing track days and highway riding, the Pilot Powers or the new Dunlop Qualifiers? I just wanted and opinion from the racers here. I know one set of buns aint gonna last me the whole season so I will probably try both. Just wanted to hear what racers think would be the better dual purpose tire. Thank you for your time. Big Ern out! :smt035

P.S: Theres a million tire threads out there and I didnt want start a new one, so thats why I choose this one!!

Pilot Powers are the best tyre for the R6 that i have used. They give loads of grip, amazing front end feel and really good wear rate.

I've already lost my rear end once with the Dunlops 208's I have on my bike. If I had the money to just spend I would have had them replaced already, but I've been cautious since then and kept my rear intact.

As much as I ride I'm going to need new ones soon again, anyone have any suggestions?

I don't want a tire so soft I wear it out quickly, but I don't want a tire that feels unstable in the corner like my 208's feel.

I have a friend that swears by the Diablo's.

Any thoughts?

I have not put my pilot powers on yet, but from what I have heard from people that I know that have them they are awsome. I have used Dunlops D208's and now have Bridgstone Battle Ax's. As far as the Ax's I would not recommend them, too much rear end "scooting" in the curves. 208's were o.k. but I know people that have run 208's and the Mich P.P.'s and they would not go back to the dunlops.

Diablo corsa and Pilot Power are very excellent tires.
I had both of them and was very confident the feeling. Perhaps a little more with my brand new pilot power.

I've got the Michelin on my baby about 2 weeks ago... they're pretty good ...nice road grip ..but i did notice (maybe i'm dreamin) that the back tyres were a bit smaller in width than the stock one (dunlop i think) ...any ideas ??

i just bought a set of pilot powers 3 weeks ago and they're comin in real nice. alot better than the dunlops d208s i had on before. unfortunately i bought a front tire with a bigger aspect ratio than the one i had before, so now im on my tippy toes. the tires are bada$$ though. im thinkin about getting the 2ct's next time, maybe when summer comes around.
