I have had my aftermarket muffler on my bike now for 1,000 miles and I have noticed that there is no carbon deposits on the outside of it. There isn't even any carbon inside the muffler... I never tuned the ECU for the muffler is it running to lean? I know you have to have them tuned even if you add an air filter. People said you can get away without tuning it for the muffler and mid pipe. Everything else is stock.

Depends, are you running clean gas? and does the bike feel slugglish? If you think its running lean go HERE (http://r6messagenet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15407) and you can modify your fuel maps without a power commander.
