Hi, I am new to bikes and i searched around and was trying to find reviews on Icon Boots and Jackets, i like the ICON superduty boots and the standard boots, i was wondering if anyone has either of these and would like to chime in and tell me whether they are worth the money and if they are comfortable. Also i was wondering if the Mesh titanium jacket is one of the more comfortable jackets for the summer. i know it will be hot but with the mesh will it be lower on the Hot scale. Thanks.

Its really comfortabilty with durability is what you are looking for, usally the more money you are gonna spend the better. But really you need to try stuff on and see how it fits and feels. Icon makes good jackets but i think alpinestars makes jackets that look more like actual casual jackets that you wear riding and wear out as well. As far as boots i dont know what to tell you, most likely a comfortablilty factor something maybe with a stiff sole.

Tom,
The Superduty boots are great if you're looking for something to ride around in all day and go out to eat and wear as a regular shoe/boot. They are pretty stiff but don't go much over the ankle. If you really like to thrash it up you might want to find something that goes higher up the leg.
The cool thing with the icon stuff is it's pretty safe and doesn't look track-only like my vertebra's do. So you can wear them where ever.

The boots that I actually wear are boots designed for firefighting. They are an 8in boot metal zippered in the front, the materal is kevlar, steel toed and steel shank though the sole of the boot. They are designed to take 1200 degrees, so i couldnt see why you cant wear them on the rd either. They look like a regular boot since they are designed to be based upon a duty boot, but to be worn in structural firefighting or brush and wild land fires. A little pricy at 220 bucks but i have had mine for 4 yrs and have yet even needed to replace the laces yet.
