About a month ago, I was out for a run, on the way to get gas (bike was running on excess at this point). Ever since I bought the bike, it has been idling between ~1.5K and 2K Rpms. After I filled up and stopped at a red light, the rpms dropped to just over 0 (on its own) and shut off. I’d restarted it, again just idling over 0. So a buddy who was with us adjusted the idle (so that it was now, after being adjusted up, idling between 2k & 3k rpms), turning it up and told me to run at that for a bit and turn it down after a while when it seems ok. After a few km’s, I adjusted the idle back down to ~1.5 & 2 again. Seemed Fine.

Few rides after, didn’t have to adjust the idle, seemed perfectly fine. Filled/Topped up and went on a few runs never had a issue

Other night, I topped up the gas as we were going for another run. About 1/4 to 1/2 a tank this time when I topped it up. After doing so, same thing happened, went to a red light, stopped the bike and the idling dropped again to just over 0, and shut off. Re-started the bike, idled just above 0 and shut off again. So again, adjusted the idle (so that it was now, after being adjusted up, idling between 2k & 3k rpms) for a few km’s. At our next destination, turned the bike off, took a break for a few minutes. Got back on the bike, restarted it, and it was now idling at 4000 rpms on its own. So now again the bike seems fine. So I adjusted the idle back down to 1.5k and 2k rpms

This ever happen to anyone else? Any suggestions? Have purchased SeaFoam to go in the gas tank. Someone suggested that it might be build up around the injectors and this will help with the problem

Any help/Thoughts/advice be appreciated.

Thanks

OK Ok ok I had this same issue with my bike and I honestly NEVER figured out a reason, I had several actual professional bike mechanics and long time riders look at it and try to diagnose this issue. Came to be that somehow my choke cable had adjusted itself up and was semi choking itself. Or atleast thats my theory. So if you have a carborated bike with a manual choke. adjust the cable alllllll the way out and it should fix it as it fixed it on my bike. Hope this helps.
