Buy joe rocket, the best air flow and protection.

Sounds like your a Joe Rocket fan kcdano. I'd say anything with armor. Usually when you go down your armor is what gets eaten up. Unless your riding hard in a canyon or at high speeds full leather jacket may not be the best choice. I ride in full leather but you could say if I were to go down I'd need it. If your not an aggressive rider a mesh jacket with armor would probably be your best bet. Back pad or back armor is a great thing to look for in a jacket. You can usually tell how a jacket is made by feeling the armor and its flex points. Good jackets use good armor, good stitching, and good design

I would go with the Joe Rocket as well. Although, I almost always wear full leather.
As far as the helmet issue is concerned, I have never been a fan of those flip up styles.....I just don't trust them in a crash....just does not seem like a safe design.....kinda like a convertable in a roll over.......if I were you, I would get yourself a nice Arai, (or Shoei, or Suomy) basically a nice higher end replica helmet, that the racers wear. Something that offers the highest standard of protection for your dome. I personally only trust Arai helmets. I have been down a few times all at speeds just under or just over 100 mph and I have never had one of their helmets break in any way on me....and twice my head was the first thing to hit the road. Don't be turned away by price man.....you can get a good Arai or the others mentioned for $700 or less....be safe.

Not only that but think of it this way, These helmets are expensive for a good reason. Now the question you ask is, "How much is my head really worth?"

Flip up helmets are not safe! The first thing to break will be where it hinges, then it's all down hill from there. I have a buddy that wears one of those, and I'm constanly on his ass to get a real helmet. I'd advise in getting a better helmet A.S.A.P. Good luck.

yea definatly do not get a flipup helmet, they will just break off if you wreck. Shoei and sunomi make excellent helemets, and if you got money and like them arai isnt bad either,
