ON AN 03 R6 ARE THE MILES STORED IN THE ECU OR IN THE SPEEDO? IS IT AS EASY CHANGING ONE OF THESE PARTS TO HAVE LOWER MILES???

They're stored in the gauge cluster. But wouldn't replacing the head-unit to display lower miles be fraudulent and wrong? :evil:

:evil: im thinking someone has done this to me but i heard on the 03 and up miles are stored in the ECU. My bike is in beat condition for only 2K. Does anyone know for sure where the miles are stored????

You're concerned about the condition of your bike with 2k miles on it. Thats nothing for an '03. Think about it thats only 1k miles a year. You had the '03 and '04 riding seasons. I have an '02 with 24k miles on it, and it doesn't look that bad. It's all about how much care you take.

i think you can run a check with the DMV and they will tell you if something happened to it. i dont think they will be able to tell miles/kms but you never know what u might find out

The DMV will only be able to tell you when each time the bike is registered that the mileage was. But when you fill out the reg, there is a spot saying that you "zeroed" the mileage or changed it so the mileage is not the actual mileage and that is not illegal. The illegal part is when they change it and dont tell you, to make more money on it. That is fraud my friends. There may be a site online that takes information kinda like carfax regarding motorcycle. You could also go to a dealer and they might be able to give you the information if they even track it.
