Hello I have had some problems with the 2000 r6 i bought a used motor from a 02 r6 with 5000kms
can anyone give me a play by play on the swap?
how hard is it really
what would i have to pull from the old motor to put into the new one?
starter? alt? water pump? carbs?
please let me know so i can get out riding again soon
thanks again

Depends on what came with the new one!!
Sorry to be so blunt, but if all you have is the engine (say, without the carbs, but missing no side covers) then you would need to switch the carbs over. The new engine may even be fuel injected as opposed to carb'd (sorry, not sure about what years the transition took place in).
Give more info as far as what the new engine has that came with it.

well the bike is a 2000, the motor is out of a 2002 bike, (so it is carb'd)
anything i should look for, i know it doesn't come with carbs.
is it just basically remove old, and put everything back on the new one?

Like jreichard said, there's no way to tell what is coming on your new motor. It might have busted up sensors from shipping, it might have an intact wiring harness, it might have no side covers or oil pan, or it could be in bolt up turn the key and go riding condition. Without seeing the ad for the motor you bought or being a part of the conversation and terms of the sale there's no way for us to tell you what you're getting.
If your bike was in otherwise good shape, aside from needing a motor, I would try to use as much of your original parts as possible. The reason being, you don't know the life the new motor had. It could have been abused and poorly maintained, in which case sensors might be gummed up. Or the bike could have lived a life outside and have corrosion on all the surfaces, meanwhile if your bike was well cared for it might have nicer looking covers and bits.
Aside from that, the block for the '00 and '02 are the same. So unbolt it from the frame and swap away.
