Hey does anyone know if the '05 R6's are proned to headshakes and tankslappers? And just curious if the R1 oem steering dampeners compatible with the R6's. I'd figure that all bikes are proned to getting them given the conditions of the road and maintenance of the bike are bad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a steering dampener. Which ones are good to purchase? Group buys?

TIA,
R

I wouldn't go as far as to say they are "prone" but with the agressive sterring geometry you may encounter some instability during certain aggresive situations.
Example, hard on the gas so the front is already light and you hit an expansion joint in the road, or if you let your front tire wear and feather too much (which is common do to the varying loads on the front tire) you may experience some headshake. And tankslappers are just a real bad case of the shakes.
