I have read that some of these super sports feel like "Warp" speed when you rev them out. I bought a new R6 04' and am in the break in period (so I have to keep the revs down). Will have a month before I can put it to the test myself.

Does this bike have "warp" speed?

the 05 r6 is my first bike and i just finished the break in period about 2 weeks ago and when i rev it past 12k rpm it feels like warp speed to me... some of these guys on here are probably use to it but if you are new like myself stand by...

Thanks for the response.

I finally got to open mine up a bit and I my impression was that the bike is really fast especially above 8k. I really don't think I will ever need anything faster than this bike for the street. This is my 5th bike, first supersport. I rode an 04' SV650 for 7000 miles before this and this bike feels faster from the bottom up. actually the sv engine was ok, but really lagged on the top end. I felt if I had another 10 - 15 horses for the sv the engine would have suited me fine, but the suspension on that bike is horrible.

Another thing I had read in other forums was that the "600cc bikes are gutless below their power band and you need to rev them high to get any power". My opinion is that that couldn't be farther from the truth. My R6 takes off from 4k up. If the bike is gutless, you need to learn how to downshift.

the great power is on the higher rpm... i went to 14k , **** that thing rocks... when you get used to the power on the higher rpm , it seems that on the lower rpm it has no power...
