Hey guys Im new here, unfortunate circumstances have brought me your way,my 01 GSXR 1000 that I had for 3 years was stolen 2 weeks ago so Im buying this 95 R6 for now,can anyone tell me what easy mods are available? as Im going to still be riding with the same group(mostly 1000s and a few kawi 1200s) and I know I'll never kick their asses now but still want a respectable handling machine and I know the R6 is a more than capable handling machine,I will also want a few engine upgrades but I wont spend a fortune for now as I'll prob only have this for a short while(until I get an ins. check)great site by the way, thanks for your help,John

ps.Does it has fully adjuctable suspension front and rear right? 17" wheels?

95 R6?
Anyway, drop the front a tooth to 15T and go Up 1 in the rear to 49T with a 520 chain. That'll put you in the neighborhood for acceleration to keep up with 1k's.
Also make sure you have a good exhaust, full system recommended, with a nice matching jet kit. That should get you in the ballpark of 100hp. Stock '02s came with 98hp so a 1st gen should've been like 90-92hp.
Get a good set of tires, michelin pilot power/pirelli diablo corsa/or any other topshelf sport tire. And a set of sintered brake pads. EBC HH+'s are on sale at www.teampromotion.com. Buy the fronts and get the rear free. That'll give you to ability and ride feel to hold the speed deeper into corners.
So to re-cap, $150 for chain and sprockets. $100 for a jet kit. $450-650 for an exhaust. $300 for tires. $50 for brakes.
Total right around a grand for a bike that'll eat most anything alive.

The R6 came out in 99. Must be a 600R.
