I need a little help here. Im lookin into buyin my first Rocket. Anyways i found a bike on ebay that has been laid down but dont know wether its cosmetic damage or not. Can somebody that knows more than me about bikes take a look at this listing and let me know what you think. I am pretty handy with automotive repairs so i wouldnt mind buying parts and rebuilding a bike. thanks

First of all, I am no expert. I've had my R6 since May, so take my 2 cents as you will. The bike looks to be in decent shape, besides all of the plastic and I'm sure some engine parts and covers and the like. The price for a bike with 121 mile is great and one hell of a deal. My issues are these...A: the guy wrecked it that bad with 121 miles? How hard did he run it? The bike isn't even broken in for another 380 miles? and B: He states the subframe of the tailsection is "tweeked a little." Tweeked a little huh? How much is a little and if that bent, some other things probably did too. I know the price sounds right, but I'd wait for something else. In my experience there is always more underlying these wrecked bikes. Some are fine, others have hidden damage that gets ya one way or another. Good Luck either way.

Yeah dude, I have bought a few salvage bikes in my day, and they all worked out fine. However, I always saw the bikes prior to buying them.....in my mind it is a huge gamble to buy something that has been wrecked without seeing it. Check out your local cycle trader, you can usually find really good deals in there on salvage bikes and you can go check them out before you buy. Good Luck.

I definetly planned on going to see the bike before buying it, Its only like 3 hours from where i live. Ill have to look into it a little bit more though. The tweaked frame part worries me a little bit.

Allright without looking at the bike and making sure it runs and whatnot, doesnt look too bad....but you will have to replace all the plastic on it....everything is damaged....and even if you order it online be ready to spend 2500 for the body....now looking at it, both sides are damaged, so that right there shows either A) Dumped more than once or B) Dumped once and it flipped over. The rear fender is gone, so that means it was hit hard enough on the rear end that it looked better withbout it than with it, signals from here look ok, but you will want to replace them with flushmounts (I like my greggs LED's  ) check the mirrors for scrates too....the fact that housing around the headlights and the wind shield is gone and destroyed he must have put that bike down hard....check all the pegs to make sure they move smoothe and evenly, and that mechanically works well, check throttle for play, brakes, clutch, clutch pedal, and everything.....if its all body work, its worth while cuase the bike will be brand new for 5G round number....any major mechanical parts then pass it by....check for salvage on the title, get the vin from him, and then go to the DMV and pay 5 bucks and get it checked...most of to date, the stuff on the internet is like 2 weeks - a month behind....and judge the peron who owned it, if they were a dirtbag and beat it, or if it was a legit accident wasnt from messing around....spend a lot of time talking to the person and going though the bike....good luck

Yeah i guess now that i look at it its not that great of a deal with all the work being done to it, specially because it probably wasnt broke in properly also. I can find a used R6 for about 6500 anyways. Thats about how much ill end up spending on this bike. Anyways thanks for all your help because without it i prolly would have ended up doing something stupid and regretting it later. Thanks again
