hey all, I just got my new 04 R6 Red/black (the faster one haha) today 5/26 and almost cryed on my ride out of the dealer it was so sweet...... anyway. this bike rocks so far, with only 7 miles on it, i'm already wishing I could see what it has after 8K RPMs. I want any mod ideas and stuff that some of you seasoned vets may know . drop me a reply ect. I'll be active around here!

U will have a blast when u get around 10k.....thats when the powerband hits hard. U know the usual mods pipe, fender elemator, new blinkers. If u really wanna get into it go with a powercommander and all that fun stuff. I also have a solo seat cowl on my bike, i think it looks better when the girls are not on the back :D

Also while im think about it one if the 1st things u should get is a tank spline or you u will put some nice chips in your tank fast with belt buckles, buttons ect.

Congrats on the bike! I share your frustration (picked mine up 5/22)...at least I've only got 400 more miles to go!

I picked up an R6 tank pad and R6 flaming handle grips today so I dont chip the tank! what is the commander? the dealer recomended a micron exhaust with the black to red fade, has anyone seen it, and is it a good can? I heard some mumblings about them cracking..

Why wait to see what it has. The day i got mine I took it out in the country and redlined the first 5 gears then downshifted hard.I have'nt had a problem yet.I changed my oil at 30 miles also. 8)

if your planning on selling and getting a new one every year, i guess it doesn't matter if you break it in correctly or not.. thats why I went the NEW route and didn't save a grand or two for a used one.

btw.. i like that no one has voted for the red/black. that means mine will stand out more in a crowd and be more unique!!! good and bad i guess..
