Do any of you guys race, and/or know the yamaha predicted specs for the 0-60 and quartermile times?
....and how they compare to the R1 (just out of curiousity)

Not many people drag race a 600cc sport bike, they are more suited to road courses. Never the less, expect a bone stock R6 to give you a 1/4mi time of around 11sec flat....and I have seen modded ones go to mid 10's. A bone stock R1 will be a mid to low 10sec ride with the sky the limit (8sec with nitrous of turbos).
Unlike cars though riding a sportbike is much harder to extract the best performance from. Don't kick yourself if you can only manage 12sec times on an R1 (I have seen modded GSXR1300's do 14sec because a squid was riding).
Getting a good launch while keeping the front end down is the hardest part, most people keep the engine at 8-9000 rpm's and simply ride the clutch for the best launch, but it is easy to loop like that.

if i had to guess probably in the high 3s low 4s. You figure, you can hit 60 without shifting out of 1st. And most mags rate bikes by 0-100.
I got this from MotorcycleUSA.com for 04' model:
0-60 3.42
0-100 7.01
0-130 12.9
quarrter mile time was 11.03
Guys does it really matter what the quater times are? These bikes are made to road race and the rolling drag race that lasts about 3 to 4 city blocks. You want the R1 for top speed but anyone who knows bikes will tell you the 600 bikes are the things to have for the twisties and the short 1/8th to 1/10th of a mile blast that most of us do around town. As far as a Harley goes.....who cares.
