I just bought an 08 R6s and It's time for my first oil change. I decided that I'm gonna do all the servicing myself but I cant figure out what kind of oil filter to get. I looked through the manual but doesnt say **** about what kind of filter I need. Any info would be much appreciated.

You'll need a yamaha filter. There isn't a whole lot of aftermarket for bike filters. You can check with Amsoil, but they may not have one designed yet.

The filter is the same for all previous year r6's.. So emgo, K&N,hiflo all make the filters for the bike.

Agreed. The filter for all the R6S's are the same as the 2003-2005 R6. You can just use that as your reference when looking for one.

Amsoil makes great filters....the K&N ones are roughly the same quality as the factory Yamaha ones. Just avoid the ones you can buy at Auto Zone or such.
