anyone have more info on these oe any undertail kits for that matter?
Jota21 10-14-2004, 10:00 PM I dont think those look good at all
NTFireFighter 10-15-2004, 03:29 AM I was gonna buy that but decided against it, wanted to keep it stock, i didnt think the led's were gonna be bright enough....but is looks cool shaved...but signals were kinda cheap and expensive...i went with http://exoticsportbike.com/r6_(01-04).htm they are really bright and clean, i think worth it
Firefighter.... you sure that's the right link?... it wouldn't load for me
NTFireFighter 10-15-2004, 07:36 PM Sorry about that, edited the link it was suppose to be .htm in the end

fierohink 10-16-2004, 02:26 AM Was never big on the undertail exhaust. Gimme a nice oval side mount and I'm happy. Plus, they're super cheap and easy to replace in the event of a get-off.
NTFireFighter 10-16-2004, 05:00 AM Dont think they are talking about exhaust, just replacement of the undertail for low profile with built in signals
fierohink 10-16-2004, 02:09 PM No, hotbodies now makes and undertail, that in addition to cleaning up the rear of the bike sacrifices the trunk space for an exhaust. Where you would normally have taillights you have an opening for the exhaust and then further down you have the turn signals and liscnese plate. Read the html link ...utxs... " Under Tail eXhaust Systems"
phat_r6 10-16-2004, 03:27 PM they have had that set up for a couple of months now. i rode with a guy with that style exhaust. to damn loud and no performance. he said he just bought it for the looks. which i would say it does look cool but i dont want a damn show bike you know...
Devious1 02-22-2005, 12:40 AM My, taste says gimme a fat oval can stickin' out the side of a 6, others like-me slim.. But I like Big butts..
smoaky396 03-02-2005, 01:02 PM I have heard the hot bodies and they sound alot like the Muzzy. Imo not a good sound. They are very loud as it would be with such a small can...Gemme my Micron anyday
roninone 03-08-2005, 03:56 PM Too many bends on that undertail setup, which would probably lead to little loss of hp. I too would go for the Micron as well.
JoeCool_MN 04-08-2005, 12:37 AM Gotta agree w/ the rest of the peeps. Not so much digging it. As said already, sound is not so hot, and loss of HP due to drastic curves of pipe. Eh, I dunno, not for me I guess.
Cooper29 04-08-2005, 08:24 AM I think that if the bike comes stock with an under the tail pipe, then get an after market under the tail, it will fit well. I have yet to see an under tail pipe for an R6 that looks like it fits up well.
I love my micron high mount, the power and the sound are great!
NTFireFighter 04-08-2005, 05:44 PM Eh too much horsepower loss, they are right, tooo many bends and curves in it. The R1 on the other hand has more power than it knows what to do with, it can afford that "loss" assuming it is, a free flowing exhaust on a bike like that would do it some good, curves just keep back pressure when you are going to a duel exhaust
JoeBar 06-04-2005, 08:03 AM I think it looks great. To bad it is not for sale in Europe.
R6wheelygirl 06-23-2005, 08:46 PM I just bought an 05 R6 and wanted an undertail exhaust but the only one I have come across for an 05 R6 is made by hotbodies. From reading the posts it sounds like hotbodies isn't the way to go. Does anyone suggest or know of anyother maker for an undertail that will fit an 05 and sound good.
If not that I am going for a sheek look. I don't like a fat pipe on the side. something more descrete looking. Suggestions?
I know that ixil makes underseat-pipes for the R6. Someone on a belgian forum has got one since last week. I will post the foto's here soon.

NTFireFighter 06-24-2005, 01:16 PM Could always go to a good performance exhaust shop, and get them to custom bend you an exhaust for your R6. Pricey but no one can say they have the same thing

For that price i can also sell my R6 and buy the R1 2005 who has it by default
R6wheelygirl 06-28-2005, 02:03 PM Thanks for mentioning ixil. I checked out their website and liked what I saw. I got a contact number for a distributor here in the states. I will give them a call and check it out. The prices weren't as much as I thought they would be. Thanks again for the reply!!

Maverick33 03-30-2006, 07:21 PM I have an '05 Raven with the hotbodies exhaust and I love it. I guess not everyone likes the loud sound, but I sure do. I am a bigger fan of the undertail than the sidepipe. It just looks so clean. As far as a HP loss, I'll be getting it dyno'd pretty soon, so I'll keep ya posted on what the pipe curvature effects are on the power.
kcdano 03-30-2006, 10:47 PM don't like it all.
