Hey everybody, I just found your website and I hope you don't mind me barging in making my announcement. Some sorry low-down, good-for-nothing, piece of trash stole my blue 2000 R6 track bike last night. I am sure it is stripped down by now, and I wanted to get the word out to make it as hard as possible for the jerk or jerks to sell the parts. Even though it was a 2000, it had just had a brand new Subaru WRX Blue Paint Job when I bought it and the body work was still in tact and looked great. No dents or anything. The only thing scratched up on it was the NRC engine cover.
It was track-ready when I bought it and had alot of modifications, which I didn't have a clue about at the time. Thank God I saved the description from Ebay. It had a Vortex frame and swing sliders, Vortex triple clamp, Vortex rear sets, Vortex gas cap, Vortex clip-on handle bars, Jardine exhaust, NRC engine covers, Sprint steering dampener, and a few other things.
I know I will never see it again, but, please keep your eyes and ears open. I don't understand how anyone could steal a motorcycle, especially, one that belongs to a MawMaw!!!!
Thanks,
R6MawMaw

Well, I beat the statistics and I credit that all to my daughter's praying every night and not giving up that I was going to get my motorcycle back. We went to Saltillo, MS, yesterday, and picked up my motorcycle. We received a call Tuesday that someone was seen riding the bike at 11:45PM. A cop noticed that it had no tag and he tried to pull the guy over. The guy turned around and looked at the cop and then made the choice to try to outrun the cop. Bad Choice!! The cop chased him for about a mile when the guy lost control in a curve. He went across to the other lane, ran in a ditch and into a corn field. The cop said that he was transported to the hospital in Tupelo and was in intensive care. He broke his right leg in 5 places. The report said that the bone was sticking out of the leg, at the scene. He had immediate leg surgery and he was scheduled for another leg surgery this morning at 10:30. Due to the dirt that got in his leg at the scene, a bad infection has set in and there is a chance that he may lose his leg from the knee down. They charged him with buying and receiving stolen property and another felony of eluding the cops. It was a felony due to the fact that he was on probation.
Warning to all in AL and MS, according to the MS police, an unbelievable amount of ATV's, motorcycles and 4-wheelers have been stolen over an extended period of time. They believe it is a ring of thieves involved, and that it is this group of people that stole my bike. I know alot but I can't say much at this time. My daughter and myself are now praying that they will see justice and they will be prosecuted. If so, we will beat another statistic, from what I hear. If my stolen bike, can be a part of putting an end to this group, and keep someone else from going through what we have gone through, then at least it didn't get stolen in vain.
It was definitely a bitter sweet reunion with my bike. I am so glad to have some closure and have my bike back and possibly have a chance of seeing someone get prosecuted. But, the bike looked like it belonged in the dump. It didn't even look like my bike. They had gone to alot of trouble taking everything apart to wire and secure a headlight and tail lights. I never thought they would try to convert it to a street bike, but that is what they did. They had disposed of the Vortex gas cap and the front fender. It looked like they just bought some red spray paint and painted over the blue, and most everything else. Anything, they chose not to paint, had overspray all over it. It is now a pewky brownish maroon color. There is some body damage from the wreck, but John seems to think that we can rebuild it. Of course, that is going to take money and this incident has already set us back quite a bit and I feel soooo violated, I am really not sure what I want to do at this time.
My husband felt really guilty because he had locked my motorcycle in our enclosed trailer and left it there overnight. This is something that I asked him to NEVER do. The first time he did it, it got stolen. I don't know if I mentioned it, but John felt so guilty that he immediately started looking for another bike and wound up going to Cummings, GA. He bought an 01 R6 from Ducati Erv. He bought the body work from Super Dave, I think. Anyway, Ducati Erv rebuilt it, himself. He was very nice and the bike looks great. It is very similar to the one I had, but my other bike was my baby. I wish I had it back!!!!I In the meantime, I will be able to ride the track days that I have scheduled. For the people that know me, Erv put the number 3 on the bike. Depending on what I do about the other bike, I may wind up putting my red 12 on the 01 R6, for old times sake. I rode Barber's in June and I was surprised at the people who came up to me and said they had been looking for # 12 all day and they didn't think I was there.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for keeping your eyes and ears open for me. Thanks for sharing my pain. Knowing other people care, makes it alot easier.
Vicki
