I ride an 00 R6 and am having some serious issues with it. About a month back the battery (or so I thought) would not hold a charge, I tendered it and it worked fine for a while but I was bump starting it so I finally broke down and bought a new battery...problem did not go away so after some researching on various forums the voltage regulator was next in line to be replaced. Just replaced that, and the bike started fine but now it won't shift into gear...the clutch seems to be working fine and I hear it go into gear, but when I release the clutch bike only revs- no movement, and it the engine won't stall- like its stuck in neutral.

I am lost for suggestions. Need help- want to go riding!

The last time you rode the bike, did everything act normally? Did you hear any odd sounds? Does the pull on the clutch lever feel the same?

It sounds like something went in your clutch. What I'm thinking may have happened is the repeated torqueing of bump starting caused the clutch basket nut to loosen a little bit and now your clutch doesn't have the clamping force to transmit engine power.

Sadly there's no easy way to test this without pulling the side cover.

that is right up the avenue I am thinknig. last time i rode the bike was fantastic- no problems. so possibly i should be able to just tighten the clutch basket right?
