whats up all, I recently got my moto license and still haven't picked out a bike. I don't know if a 600 is too snappy to start out on but I've ridden a couple different bikes and I think I like the R6 better than the cbr f4i.
never rode a gixxer600 though. Any advice would be great.
thanx,
Will

to be honest i like the R6 the best, most responsive suspension, well built bike, and its quick when you want it to be and cruses just as nice when you dont want it to be. But its all about you man, just cause the R6 is the best for me another bike may be better for you, i sugest that you go out and sit on all the bikes you are interested in, get some specs and compare them, see if they will let you ride it a little or something like that...probally the best way to go about it

Yeah, it's all about feel. The 600s are so close in performance, unless you're DuHammel you're not gonna know the difference.
Also keep on the back burner how long they've been out. You may not want to be the first to own something and find it sucks... 1st gen Triumph 600tt.

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it. I'm lookin at 00-01' R6's and I hear that pre-03' they were notorious for tranny problems. What other things should I look for ?
thanx

I wouldn't say they're "notorious" but ride it and if it slips in 6th or 2nd under power the dogs in the trans are shot. I think it was a bad set of casting yamaha used for a little bit cause I haven't had any probs. The only complaint I had was the leaking battery that hazed up my swingarm and didn't know I could get it replaced under warranty until it was too late. So if you're into comsetics just check right above the left side foot peg assembly and see if the swingarm is all white and discolored. Also check the pressure resevoir on the shock to make sure it isn't leaking because the dripping acid from the battery will eat a hole in the shock.
