I'm planning a ride from the pan handle of florida to vegas this coming summer. Looking for some good places to ride on the way there and in vegas. Post your favorites.

Hit the Tail of The Dragon.

It is highway 129 on the border between Tennessee and North Carolina.

It's a little out of the way, but well worth it.

Middle America is very boring. Having ridden to MotoGP @ Leguna and then a few weeks later riding out to Colorado Springs, both from Maryland. I can tell you there is many a mile of nothing. I recommend carrying a 1-gallon gas can. There were places in Kansas and Nebraska that were more then 150 miles between fuel stops.

I don't know how detoured from the route you want to go, but there is some killer scenery and terrain to ride through around the Black Hills of South Dakato and around Spearfish Canyon. Basically I took that at track speeds passing cars along the way. It's posted 45 I think and it's basically Tail of the Dragon kind of riding but with less traffic and places to drag a knee at 70.

Colorado has some great riding in through Telluride. I can't remember any of the roads though. If you have the time just get a local map and try to get lost.

Vegas is sort of bland. Its out in the middle of nowhere. You can ride across the Hoover Dam, but there's so much traffic there isn't a whole lot of places to go have riding related fun.

I'm taking a more southern route. I have family in Texas I'm going to stay with for a couple days to split the long ride into two trips basiclly. I'm going to Vegas to ride with my brother who lives there. He just got his first bike, an 07 r6 just like mine, so I want to ride with him.

I lived in Colorado Springs for a year before I got my bike. I know a lot of good places to ride there. My buddy that is riding with me has a cabin in Boulder we are going to stay at for a couple days on the way back. Should be an awsome trip.
