I think the Honda CBR 600 RR beats the R6 as an all rounder...More comfortable riding position and I imagine better fuel consumption.

The Suzuki GSXR 600 probably beats the R6 in performance.

BUT...The R6 is still the sexiest 600 out there I believe!

i think your wrong homie....i rode one of those bikes no balls at all....and when cornering they dont fall into the turns smoothly like the R6 does...but one thing i do agree with you is the new gsxr wilol beat the r6 but only in drag racing...and i dont do that much so that is why i have the R6

im not sure what the gsxr will do in a quarter but i heard the 04s can do it in 10 flat. I also watched press clips that said the 04 r6 is better than the rr because of handling, power, weight, and looks. i read a shoot out of all the 600s and the ducati 750 and the winner was the 04 r6.

I can for sure say that the r6 is more comfy than the gixxer as I have spent a lot of time on that bike. I like gixxers alot but overall the r6 is a sexy beaotch.

There is none. I really believe that when it comes to a 600 cc racer replica. there is no "clear" winner. Most reviews I read ( AND THEY VARY IN THEIR OPINION AS MUCH AS THE NUMBER OF BIKES OUT THERE ),will say different things. For instance, I was reading at BORDERs ( sorry I forgot the name of the Mag ) gave the Gixxer 5 stars as opposed to the R6's three. However, MOTORCYCLEUSA.com declared the R6 as the best bike two years running ('03 and '04). This despite the fact that it seems to be that the R6's weakest link is its motor according to their test. THen again, this test is not about just the motor, its the whole bike. The gixxer is the original 600 that I believe jump started the 600cc wars and is naturally very popular with sport riders. However, Honda's CBR 600 also has its merits and its die-hard followers. The horsepower king is definiltely the KAWASAKI ZX-6R (636). If you race in a straight line then this is the BOMB.

I could talk randomly all day about these comparisons but it all comes down to personal choice. To be honest, I wish money was not an object so I could have all of them

OK you can stop reading here.

Ok here is what I heard about the power bands of these bikes for those who love engines:

KAWASAKI ZX-6R -- very linear power band - most torque --beats all the others handsdown.
SUZUKI GSX-R 600 --- very linear. Produces more power than the CBR or R6 @ 8000 rpm; the R6 catches up and makes more by 12,000 rpm but the power trails off faster than the Gixxers by the overrev territory.
HONDA CBR 600RR - behaves like a VTEC car -- most of the power is at the higher RPMs.
YAMAHA YZF-R6 -- has too noticeable dips in its powerband but is the smoothest af all the test bikes.

MOTORCYCLE USA.COM '04 YEAR RESULTS: ( 1/4 mile )

KAWASAKI - 10.77 sec @ 132.10 mph
SUZUKI - 10.92 sec @ 130.20 mph
YAMAHA - 11.03 sec. @ 130.70 mph
HONDA - 11.11 sec @ 128.60 mph

Hard numbers but in the real world -- nobody will notice.

The YZF-R6 still rocks and is the best looking , best made ( finish ) bike.

Regards to everyone.

the only reason those 600s were getting low 10's in the 1/4 was because they lowered them, shortened the gearing (to keep the clutch from frying), and by letting pro drag racer Ricky Gadson do the piloting.

That was on the 05's and I he only chose those two bikes, because of their power. They set both bikes up the same and had the same person riding. The R6 was still faster. Just like everyone else says every bike is different just like opinions. I would agree with alot of people in saying the styling of the r6 is very sexy and that in the most part persuaded me. I wish I would have had more experience with a bike I would have bought an R1.
