Even carbed models still have an ecm to control spark pulse, gauge read-out, and other functions.

oh yeah, I knows that - the wonderful little black box that sits under my seat. I'm wondering why he wants to know?
thinking of modding? more power? remove the wiring loom to replace with a race one? whats the sketch.......

my user name changed i am no longer snosurf85 i am mlyons13

i wanted to know about the computer because its low end power is non existent. i put up a post about it stalling. i have been informed that it might be the pre-jets. if i open the choke a little i can let out the clutch without stalling. back to the point i figure if there is a computer of some sort then it can be reset.

Not really. The computer wouldn't effect fuel delivery.

From your report on low power I would start with the basics of a tune-up. Change the plugs.
Synch the Carbs (if you can)
Reset your idle to factory settings

Now if you are still having problems, you can richen the mixture by raising the needles one position. But before you do all of this I still have to ask, has the bike gotten any worse or has it been like this all a long. If it has gotten worse since you've had the bike then there is a problem, if it has not gotten worse it could be that these bikes make no power at idle. Do you have any experience with other bikes to make a comparrison?

this is my first bike so i can not compare it to any thing else. i can say i have rode my buddy's causer and there is no problem with low end power. but i think I'm comparing apples to oranges. i got the bike used and it has always been this way. thanks.

take it to a dealer and mention your problem. I'm gonna put my money on you not giving it enough revs and maybe dumping the clutch a bit fast. you should be able to pull away easily at around 3000rpm. 8-10000 for a nice race start off the lights.......vrrrrroooooooooooooommmm!

sorry about that, i've been off the bike for 4 weeks and I'm starting to live vicariously through the internet now!
