So I just got some new grips for my bike ran down to Performance (only those in denver will know what that is) to pick up some other items, and I ask them about putting on grips. I was told to use WD40 it works just like grip glue in that it melts the plastic in the grip (chemical reaction, i've seen WD40 do it before) and it'll bond just like glue. Any ideas other than this? I grabbed a can of grip glue, should I take it back or use the WD40 trick, which I have a can of already.

Also on a side note, what chain lube do you guys like to use? i bought some today (ran out) and decided to try a new kind.

I've never heard about wd40. I could see it working if your clipons were plastic, but I'm not sure getting the grips tacky would be enough. I'd stick with the grip glue, a couple lines from bar end to the tree. I use 3 lines and then slide the grips on REAL quick cause that stop sets up super fast.
And if you're having probs getting the old grips off squirt some brake clean in there and they'll slip right off.

To get grips off just use compressed air and blow em off...it'll take less than 1sec
