Its time for me to get some new tires. I am using the dunlops sportmax that came with it, they are great tires and have held up really well. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a different brand? I want something sticky and maybe a little bit softer? Anybody have any good/bad opinions or suggestions? Thanks

Look for my review of "Shinko Tires" in the modifications section. It WILL be the ONLY review of these tires you will find on the net. Try and find another...these tires and this company is this new to America. After riding on them a while after writing that review I can honestly say they are getting better after putting a couple heat cycles through them. Also they are $170 shipped for the set to your door!!! My dealer wanted that much for just a stock rear tire.

where would I find them to buy? I would rather order them online, the dealerships want to charge a lot of money and then cut off my dick just for instalation.

I know this is late Chr6is but this my help others. The contact patches (where tire meets the ground) of each tire is about the size of your palm.
There is so much technology that goes into a tire for one main reason. Saftey!! If you are going to ride the bike go with the big names. Just for show put the cheapest you can find.

I'm runnig them to. They really smoothen out the ride, and I'm impressed. For control around the corners I'm sold on 208's.Has anyone ran Pilot Powers? That is what I'll try on my R6 if I don't sell it.

I agree with the post above about the bigger names, not that the new company to america will not cut it, but there is a reason why the D-208's and the Pilot's sell.....they work. I think the new Pilots are sweet for a nice soft, sticky ride, but what you get in traction, you will lose in wear. The Pilots are nice but won't last as long as the Dunlops.

Tire wear is all about riding style. If you're into wheelies, you'll eat rear tires. I use to get 4500-5k miles on a rear Pilot Sport. Road everyday to work plus track days. Always monitored my tire pressure. I'd ride so hard at the track I'd get flat spots on the shoulders of the tire and the center would be brand new.

i am running the pirelli's as well. i like them alot. never had any problem with them at all. they have never broke loose from the pavement at all well at least not intentionally. i think the 208's wear pretty quickly because i bought a pair if those and they wore out quickly. but you also have to factor in the area you ride and temps of the road as well.

If any of you guys are in or near Daytona Beach FL there is an awsome place to get alot of parts. I bought my Pirelli Diablo from Powder Kote Plus (not a typo) It was 150 installed. All I had to do was pull the rhim off and put it back on. He is very reasonable on his prices. Most of the time its 10% over his cost.
