checked it out in MCN - not too sure what to make of it. I preferred the looks of the one a couple of years back - a bit sharper and more focused. Gixxer still wins in the styling stakes in the 6 market IMO.

The spec makes for good reading though.......

Believe it or not, I actually agree with you there Burntout
I've been eagerly awaiting the big Jap's 2007 offerings before I finally take the plunge. The new CBR600RR just doesn't inspire the 'awe' factor that I got when I first saw the 06 R6. The odd thing is that I've really changed my mind about the Gixxer, and the things I originally disliked about it are now the things I love about it. Unlike the R6, I've not found a single bad review of it. I just wish they did the red / white K7 colour scheme on the 750.

nothing another 800 bones and a phone call to Dream Machine wouldn't sort out.

After starting a new job and enjoying a tidy 5k payrise my sights are now firmly set on an 03 / 04 RSV1000R, my days of inline 4's are numbered although I have a good 7 or so months (wet and cold months of course!) left in me on the 6.

Good luck with the job and the new bike. £5K, thats not to be sniffed at. I might have something in the pipeline that'll be worth about the same.

As for an extra £800 to get a red / white 750, im not that opposed to the black or blue (in preference order!). Just buying the bike will take me over budget. I just know that if I go for the 6, I'll always regret not going all the way!

spot on there mate. after having a go on my mates SP2 my view of the biking world has changed somewhat. after 7 years of chasing revs keeping it on the boil the promise of actually having some torque available to get me out of sticky situations is looking good.

I'll still blag a test ride on some inline 4 - 1000s first to make sure the twin is the way forward though, but I'm thinking at 175 odd bhp is too much for the road at a tender 23!

Oh yeah, another payrise in Jan as well so even more for the old ISA - I love it when a plan comes together!

Nah, you'll all be wanting a Wii before long (The new Nintendo)

The new ZX6R is out there now too. I wish Yamaha would get here ass in gear and show us the 07 R6 (R) and if they have addressed any of the criticisms of this year's bike.

such as?........
lack of torque? questionable looks? misleading rev figures?
don't get me wrong, I'd still have one if I won it!
