the 600rr is slightly faster in the 1/4 mile, if i did my reading correctly, however, the different bikes are so close in speed/acceleration it has alot more to do w/ the rider. I beat a 600rr a couple months ago, then lost to an older f4i when i didn't launch off the line fast enough (damn having add and seeing something shiny)

I think the r6 is the most agressive and best looking bike among the 4 Japanese brands of 600cc bikes.

The CBR is a softter more rider friendly bike that is better suited to new riders...like an electric razor. It's not exactly a slower bike...or worse handling...just a little more friendly. The R6 is like a straight razor blade. It's good at what it does and does it well, but a new rider won't be exactlly at home on it and could hurt themselves easier.

dyezak is completely right...also the cbr600rr is much heavier than the R6. and once again is geared toward new riders

They are pretty damn close in comparison. Aside from the body shapes of the bikes, the r6 gas tank has a hunch to it while the rr has a sleek horizontal feel. My buddy has an 03 rr600 and I have an 04 R6, they are pretty much the same power wise, if he had an o4 600rr he could take the upper hand. However, all he does is complain about how rock hard his seat is. I may come in second, but atleast I wont look like I spent the weekend in county lock-up.

Not really, I think that the R6 has an overall advanced feel to it. The CBR is a fast bike and they are pretty close in comparison. I think it also has a lot to do with the rider, that would be the deturant in all this "who's better" stuff, the rider makes the bike what it is. "Give an old lady a Camaro and she'll drive it like an oldsmobile, give a kid an oldsmobile and he'll TRY to drive it like a Camaro." Its all about the driver.
