Anyone have any input on tracks in the Seattle area, or Portland? I'm in Oly and would like some pointers/tips/suggestions as to what track to run as a newb.

Thanks Dave

I've been to Pacific Raceways in Kent and SRP in Spokane. Your pretty close to both of these. Pacific is more technical than SRP but the tarmac is very rough, expecialy in turn two! SRP is a waaaaay faster track. Pacific has a LOT of elevation change, about 150ft that occurs in about a half mile or so!! I would sugest Spokane for your first track day. Have fun! I was at SRP last weekend for one of Mike Sullivans track days, always a blast there! 2Fast puts on a great track day at Pacific

Here I am in turn 9 at SRP:

And these are at Pacific. The pics are scanned photos so they are not the best quality.

Thanks for the heads up Big Ern,
I'll check the web sites and go from there. Kent is waaaaaaay closer but I've heard there are some sweet canyons to carve over by the Tri cities. May be road trip time. Isnt that a ways for you being from BC??

I have the '04. Kent is about 6hrs and well worth it! I stay in Auburn which is nice and close. Spokane is about 4.5 to 5hrs away. Not too bad. I usually drive down the day before. Check out http://www.2-fast.org/ They do a very structured and organized track day which would be in your best intrest as a newb. They do 3 different groups of levels on the track, separatly so your not riding with the racers. That would be my choice for your first time out!!

Yea, I checked out the 2Fast web site last nite after I read your post. Kent is approx an hour away from me and Spokane is 4.5 - 5.0 hours. I'll be looking into Pacific for now. Although it looks as if it's done 'til next summer.

Well track season is here again!
I rode Spokane just the other day and I'll be at Pacific Raceways on Thusday, May 31st for Mike Sullivans Track day! You should come and check out the track, he probably still has some openings!

Ern,
I was so jacked about hitting Kent this summer however I just purchased some rental property that is taking more money and time then I expected(instead of the leathers I was looking at, I bought a new water heater and tub surround). I still plan on doing Sullivans or 2Fast but it will have to wait until after July 1st. Have a good session Thursday and hopefully I see ya at the track soon

Cashing in on the realestate market eh! Good work!

I hope to do a couple more trips to Pacific this year because I plan on racing the WMRRA series next year, as well as the WMRC up here in Vancouver! So we might bump into each other yet!
