Hey I'm new, obviously. I've always been more into cars, but just as I'm about to turbo my 350z Z, I said, wait!!! I've started looking at bikes, because pretty much they're sweet. I race regualr bikes, so now I'm looking for something a little more powerful. I'm a new rider, but I want to start on at leaste an R6. There is a beautiful R1 down the street for sale, but I'm not sure that I could handle it...thoughts? Anyone know of an R6 for sale in the Jacksonville, Florida area?...I've been looking on cycle trader and found a few things.
Bottom line, a bike is more worth my time than a turbo Z, right?

I hear ya bro...I'm leaning towrds the bike. That way I can get the chicks with the Z...and get the bad chicks with the bike! hehe.
So then, r6 or r1?

start with an R6. I know a few people who started with a liter bike and they now have broken bones because of it. Besides, if you get the 6 and a few months later you want an R1, you can always sell the r6 here

...yes I have heard the broken bone stories...not something I need right now. Then again I have a friend who started on a liter bike and has had no problems... Definately leaning towards an R6 though...I just gotta find one. I guess I'll check the market. Lemme know if anyone in the South East is letting one go!...

you come to a bike forum asking whether or not you should get a bike. what do you think the answer is going to be? invest in a mutual fund? of course they're going to tell you to get a bike. If it were me, I'd turbo the 350Z. I've seen 350 turbo's run 11's at the track. Also, you have to take into account, insurance and everything else. Just keep an open mind and maybe make a list of costs. Something like a complete turbo kit vs. bike + insurance + riding gear + service? Get where I'm going?

I love my car, don't get me wrong, and yes it would be an 11 second car when I'm done. I've just always wanted a bike...thats all. I mean I could do both, but that's not a very good investment. The biggest problem with putting a turbo in the Z is that there's a chance that it blows and then I have NO ride as opposed to 2. It's tough...

haha, easy answer, right? Then again having a car that could hang with a bike would be cool too! And the whole dying thing....
...still leaning towrds a bike, but its close one...
