hey guys i plan on bringing in my bike for its 1st oil change at 600 miles soon....
does anyone know what is involved in the 1st bike ckup :roll:

some places told me they change oil,ck chain and retorque bolts and others told me they Sink the throttle body for $240..one dealership tho told me there is no need to sink the throttle body until 20k on the bike and then do a valve adjustmnt also at that time??

another place said i just needed oil chnge, retorque bolts and re adjust chain..cost $115

I work at a yamaha dealer and this is what we generally do.
change the engine oil and filter
lube and adjust the drive chain
lube chassis and pivot points
tighten chassis, body and exhaust hardware
service the battery and connections
inspect the valves for excessive noise: ( generally they should not need to be adjusted at 600 miles)
inspected and adjusted brakes
lube and adjust control cables
adjust tire pressures
thats pretty much it, synching the throttle bodies is pretty excessive for 600 miles especially if there is no runnin concern you have
