I just added the Black Chrome windscreen. I noticed that there seems to be a gap between the screen and the bike. I'm not sure if I haven't tightened enough or if the screen was a little too curved. The stock screen has grooves where the rubber well nuts sit inside off and give you that one-peice look. It's even more noticable at the top corners. The stock screen has "hinges" that fit over the mirror mounts and keep the screen corners close to the bike. The Sportech screen only cuts around the mounts with no way of keeping it closer to the bike :x . Any tips on how I can get the screen to look like part of the bike and not just an obvious "piece" of the bike?

On your screen, do the top corners bend inwards towards the center as I described?

i have a bubble screen so we are talking about 2 diff things. but ive installed a few at work and yes they do curve in the sides like that. it's normal and looks much better than the gsx-r's in which there is a massive gap at the bottom of the screen by the nose fairing.

I appreciate the feedback, thanks. I've seen a couple of pics with other 6's that didn't seem to have that problem. I'm still open to any suggestions from others on how it was perfected.

hey guys, i hate to tell you but i think those windscreens are terrible. you definitley get what u pay for, they are cheaper than a yamaha one and look way cheaper, but that gap threw me for a loop. i put it on, stood back (it was black-chrome double bubble one) i just said no way. the mirror on the outside makes the gap look twice as big. i put all the stickers and covers back on, closed up the bag and it went right back to bike shop and the stock one is back on.
i do however have a question, can you suggest another brand that actually has countersunk holes and chamfered edges that fits like the stock one? or is yamaha the only place to get a nice fitting one?

I agree with this last poster. A friend put one of those on for like a minute and returned it. They look really bad!
Can't go wrong with Zero Gravity though!!!!

As with any aftermarket piece it isn't going to be exactly like the original. The original equipment or O.E. part is a liscensed and almost always patented item. So in order to sell a copy, without being sued by the original company, it cannot be identical. It must vary in some way, i.e. fitment, design, material, thickness. So that wonderful feeling you get from pieces lining up exactly like the factory can only come from factory parts. :( Sorry.

Can you put a taller (like the 6005) screen on an R6 for some better wind protection?

Sorry gents but I have a double bubble smoked by F.Fabbri (I think) and it looks the tits and fits seemlessly. I didn't fit it myself so can't advise on how best but this screen has a narrower bubble which only starts half way up the screen and looks 10 times better than most others I have seen on R6's. Far more racy.
check out http://www.bikersuperstore.com/product.php/760/136/ for a glimpse.
I reccomend them highly.

or http://www.speedycom.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=16231&cat=267&bestseller for a better picture. I know it's not on the R6 but it looks just as sweet.
